New Pro Crimson Carry II owner. My first 1911 and already have a question. I'm not so much asking where to store the handgun, but what position is the hammer and slide in when you store it? Loaded mag and chambered?

I am keeping it locked in a safe.

When I put my guns in the safe, they are there for storage and safety, not quick access and use. I keep my magazines loaded all the time, but the guns in my safe have no magazines or chambered rounds. My 1911's have the action closed and the hammer down.

My 'safe' pistols are stored mags loaded and in the weapon. Not chambered, hammer down. Spare mags loaded and organized on a shelf.
