This is just me, love my S&W’s but prefer them without the Hillary hole on the side.
That M19 does look good.

That's a nice gun.
SW makes excellent revolvers and that's a nice one.
I love my model 60

That said, they are more difficult to master than semi auto handguns.

I have wanted one of those since they first came out. I have the Model 19, but not the one with the comp. So sweet.

Hillary hole? ???

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The safety lock hole in the side above the cylinder release.

Hillary and Bill convinced the Brittish owners of SW to install a locking mechanism on all their guns as part of their gun control agenda.

Ironically, it drove SW stock down so low that Saf-T-Hammer (the American company contracted to design the locks) bought it for a song, and promptly started making models with no lock again.

You can buy most new SW revolver models today either with or without a lock.

S&W 19 is an iconic wheel gun, IMO! Wanted one for years, when I couldn’t afford “anything”! Finally bought one of the classics (an updated remake). It’s not an original, but with a Wilson Combat spring kit installed, it’s a great shooter!!! It satisfied my itch! The offending Hillary Hole can be seen just above the cylinder release.

My favorite M60, 3" stainless, full lug, adjustable target sights, and NO Hillary hole!
This has been a faithful trail companion here, especially in summer when rattlers are about on the high desert. The ability to chamber shot-shells along with HP's is a great feature to have for me here. I carry it in a El Paso OWB thumb-break rig, excellent carry on my mountain bike too without fear of loss.

+P-rated, accurate, dependable. What's not to like?

My Smith M19 4" was my duty revolver when I was a Deputy Sheriff here some years ago. Gone now, as my ex just HAD to have it when we got divorced many years ago.

So Penny what do you think about it. Is it yours? Thinking of buying? Need more info since we blew up your post with revolver pics. I tried to stick to the Model 19.

That's a good looking pistol! The 3" barrel is the perfect setup proportionally IMO. The 34.5 ounces will certainly mitigate recoil when shooting full loads. Good choice!
