Not pleased with the original Kimber.45 ACP mags? The Kimber mags does not compare with the Wilson Combat mags. Kimber mags are light weight & bend, when used frequently & are auto dropped to the ground during reloading the pistol.

I own 3 Kimber ACP pistols, and 14 ea. Wilson Combat 10 round mags, as well as several wilson 8 round mags. No malfunctions ever. My Wilson mags have fired 1100 rds.

In my view, the Kimber ACP .45 pistols are superb, the mags NO.

My stock Kimber mag "KimPro Tac" is shit. I have 5 Wilson Combat 500B's that all work fine. The Kimber mag would never snap all the way in with 8 rounds loaded. I realize they are actually designed to hold 7, but then why claim 8. I don't get it. Anyway, sold that piece of crap on ebay and have since been investing in reliability. Plus the 500B's make my pistol look even more awesome than it already is. He he...:D

OK, excuse the stupid question, but I'm new to Kimber (1911 in general.) I know that my Glock mags, in the same caliber, will fit and function in my G23. This is the first time I've heard anyone mention different capacity mags for the 1911.

I have a Custom Crimson Carry II, which is listed as a full size 1911. It came with a 7 rnd mag. Am I understanding that I can order a Wilson Combat 8 rnd or 10 rnd magazine and it will fit and function in my pistol?

Forgive the naivete, I just don't want to spend $30-$40 per mag just to find out it will not work properly in my pistol.

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered 4 - model 500 mags. 20% off is pretty good.

Insta-gator, if you look at the specs on the Kimber models on their web site...there are 1 or 2 models that list 8 rnds versus 7. Why or how I don't know. I do know 10 could only work by extending the magazine, so I'm not sure what 's up with that. I'm pretty sure the standard government size mag holds 7 rnds no matter who makes it.
