In stalled the Wilson flat spring and guide rod on my PRO CDP took it to the range last night and boy what a difference it made, much smother and seemed to be less recoil, was a bit of a bear to get in the first time but got easer on the second. thanks Chuck43 for the recommendation .

I'm glad to hear it worked out for you and you like it. It's going to out last a couple of normal recoil springs and when it needs replacing you're only going to have to buy a spring not the entire kit. Not to mention you no longer need a paper clip or any other tool to break your gun down.

Thanks for the post. I'm thinking that I'm going to do the same in my Stainless Pro.
Go for it Islander, you'll like it.

WC Guide Rod

I'm thinking about the guide rod swap just because I don't like the paper clip tool boogering up the end of the guide rod bushing and removing the tool is awkward. I'd love to strip without a tool.

Can you say which model number rod and spring you bought?
Is the guide rod shorter?
Is this the one?

The Wilson Combat #651 flat wire spring kit is the one you need for your Stainless Pro Carry II.

Thanks Chuck. That is the one I found. I was confused by the word "Compact" in the product description but think I read that it also fit the Pro model.
The "Compact" and the "Pro" both have 4" barrels the difference is in the frames they use. The "Compact" uses the shorter grip and the "Pro" uses the full size grip.
