Have any of you purchased the Low-Profile version of the Wilson Combat mags?

I just bought a one-piece MSH/mag well and I want to buy some WC mags. However, I find the large black base plate on the WC Standard mags rather bulky and well, ugly. I also don't like how I have seen the base plates hanging down below the bottom of the mag well.

Flush with the bottom of the mag well would be ideal I would think.
I also wonder if the base plate doesn't extend as far down as the bottom of the mag well...does that make it harder to push it all the way in firmly with one quick motion?

If you have added a mag well, what mag base plate are you happy with?

If it's a range gun it's not critical, if it's a carry gun you want to be able to seat the mag firmly without any problems. At the very least I want the bottom of the mag flush with the bottom of the grip. The mag in my carry gun is flush with the grip (no bumper on it) the additional mags I carry have bumpers so I can easily seat them when changing mags.

Islander, I like the look of the low-profile steel base plate. I'm just wondering if anyone else has bought them and will they fit nicely with a mag well if the base does not extend below the mag well base.

Btw, I think that WC mag well looks pretty kick-ass. 30 lpi checkering looks nice and is blended into the base of the mag well.

The whole thing is machined from a single piece of steel so it should look nice. It's a bit pricey as mag wells go, but if I'm putting it on my Kimber....well, you know.

Thanks Chuck. Right now it's a range gun. (But range gun or not I prefer that my Kimber be like Mary Poppins...."practically perfect in every way.")

Mostly I just don't want to order, ship and then wish I'd got a different model of magazine.

Don't the WC mags come with three different size bumpers or is that the KimPro?

Kinda looks like you're going to have to be the first kid on the block to have this magazine!

Head to your LGS to see if they have any KimPro-Tec mags. As noted earlier, they come with three different size bumpers. You can change them out to see what you like with the mag well. $0.02
