So, I had about an hour and a half today that was mine....enough time to go to the range and try the new Wilson Combat flat wire kit and new WC magazine. Then *ring* "Hi, it's mom, thought I'd stop by...."

I know that sounds awful but #*!?%!.....

So instead of shooting now I get to go to a school fund raiser with my wife.
Oh the humanity.

Think of the money that you saved.:D oh right you went to a fund raiser:eek:
Yeah...I got elected to "bid" on our table centerpiece....it was a candle in a jar!
It cost me $40. That's almost a hundred rounds of .45 acp. I left it on the table because it was basically a yard sale item.

But it was for a good cause......right?
Sure....it was for helping transgender Muslim bikers in the Ukraine.

Actually, it was for a school for kids with learning disabilities. My wife works with special needs kids and sponsored a table. But I would have paid twice as much to not sit through it. *And I could have been at the range*

Good causes can be so intrusive. It's bad enough they want our money (ok, I don't mind that) but they also take up good beer-drinking time.

Neighbor kid is a girl scout. She comes around to sell cookies. I give her $5 to go away. We're both happy. (She's actually a really good kid and sees the humor of my not wanting my belly to get larger.)

I did manage to sneak out to the range and just got back. The Wilson Combat flat wire spring and the new WC magazine worked great. I really didn't feel anything different with the spring, but it works just as well and I don't need a breakdown tool, so that's a win.

Good to hear everything went well. Have you cleaned your gun yet? Interested how field stripping went this time.
Putting the spring back in went a lot faster. Not easy yet, but better. It will take a few times to get it down. The tolerance between the slide and the guide rod bushing is very small. It is a tight fit which is good.

The part I really didn't like about the L tool on the original setup was that it was scarring the edge of the guide rod bushing. So this new setup will keep the gun looking better too.

Good to hear. Chuck said it gets easier with time.
