👍 Kimber also sells a black wood grip with the Kimber logo if that interests you.

The only thing that bugged me… just a little, was that it looked so very similar, visually, to my EMP and Ronin .45. I had a set of charcoal VZ grips and put them on the Kimber… I think I like it but sometimes my socks don’t match so I could be wrong. they function just fine for grip and feel just a hair thinner than the stock rosewood.

I think those G10 grips look pretty good. Did you have to knock them down with fine sandpaper? I usually do that. New G10's always feel like cheese graters to me.So, love the new Kimber Pro PCII, awesome gun. Yea.....Im going with Rick on this one !! LOL. When it comes to grips, aesthetics are cool, but I'd go with what feels perfect for your grip and shooting style I never worried about looks..Ive been told I have some ugly guns, but hey they hit where I point and they love me. LOLWell, as we all know, opinions are like.......well, we all have one.
I'll give it a![]()
With all due respect Rusty, I ain’t a rookie at this, nor am I a Kimber virgin. The post was simply to get any and all opinions of how they look. I’ve been shooting since I was 10…. That would be 58 years ago. I don’t know it all but I know the importance of functionality. It will get fired again Friday and will see how they feel. I wanted to change it up as the Kimber looked to much like my Ronin .45 commander. It was freaking me out 😵💫. All good advice though. How does it shoot for YOU?
This is where to START with grips.
A - B TEST them with NO other changes (ammo or hold, etc.)
You will discover which grip dimensions fit you best.
The answer will show on your target.
(Same Test Procedure applies to FLAT or ARCHED MSH.)
Then you can get the texture, color, material you desire. And KNOWING the grip is best for you.
Quality G10 Manufacturers offer a variety of textures that offer different LEVELS of ''gription''' from moderate to extreme. VZ, LOK GRIPS, & Stoner CNC, will gladly take your call and explain and help you choose. A Moderate or Mild texture will not need to be sanded.
Smooth grips are fine. Anyone can find those. But we don't sand down checkered wood grips.
I'm in the same camp as rmc. All my carry pistols (mostly) have the same smooth grips. No abrasive grips to tear up clothing, upholstery or my delicate hide, no catching on clothing on the draw from concealment.I can't help you with this call. All my 1911s have the same grips. I want no 45, 40, 9, or 22 to feel different (except in weight & balance of course).
Lookin sharp, brother!Well after 24+ hours with it, I’m satisfied with the G10’s, it works for my eye (the good one)…. I took its glamour shot for posterity or maybe just because…. Thanks for the replies!

They really do look good, I’m a fan of VZ Grips. Grips are just an easy way to get a different look for a reasonable price unless you get into ivory or exotic grips.Well after 24+ hours with it, I’m satisfied with the G10’s, it works for my eye (the good one)….
