That’s a good idea, but don’t have enough privileges yet to make a classified post. I read a lot here but not a regular contributor.
I only thought about a possible trade upon reading this thread. I’m not a big fan of red dots, and would love to trade for a non optic Kimber slide if anyone see this and would like an easy conversion.

I ended up buying a new slide from Heavy Armor Division in North Carolina and doing the conversion using the internals from my slide and some parts from Wilson Combat.

If you’re interested in my slide to convert to an optics ready, you would need to buy an extractor and firing pin as my slide is now a bare slide, no internals.
The KHX Custom is a series 70 with no firing pin safety plunger. If your pistol is set up with a FPS you may have to change some other parts in the frame. A good 1911 gunsmith could help you there. I’m not sure myself, just getting into the 1911 platform.

I’d be glad to swap slide for slide if you’re interested. Not being a serial number to the handgun part we can just mail them to each other to my knowledge. Let me know.

Maybe someone can chime in with some more information as to whether this will work for the gentleman interested in doing the conversion?
I don’t want to see him end up with a useless paperweight or if there’s any legalities of such conversion.
