I have a foundry Kydex that is great. I am a lefty, so it makes it even worse. Add to that I wanted to use an Olight Baldr S Mini, and you are looking for a unicorn!!! They made it custom for, and was able to pick it from a drop down list!!! Less than $100 Shipped.

And if you are impatient like me, the $60 rush order fee was well worth the price IMO. 20 days from order to delivery.

That's when you took that picture of your pointer, right after you clicked RUSH

They fit 1911 commander sized holsters.

Just look for one that allows for a rail and an optic of you want to use one.

Avoid Kydex if you care about the finish on the gun.
I’ve been using a wright leather works holster (marshal, master collection) for ~4 months now and it’s also removing the finish off the gun. Kydex probably removes more, but finish doesn’t appear to be safe even from a quality leather holster.

I'd mostly blame the Kimpro.
It's not a really durable finish.
There have been all sorts of issues with it.

If I ever wanted to repair the finish in a few years, do you have any recommendations? My buddy mentioned cerakote, but I’m not sure if it’s more durable and/or if it would void warranty.
Anything other than having Kimber refinish it will probably void the warranty.
They will refinish it, but not under warranty.

Honest holster wear isn't really a bad thing.
Eventually it'll happen to all guns that are carried.

If warranty wasn't a concern, DLC is supposed to be really good.

Do you think Kimber would do a DLC so you don’t lose the warranty.

It won't hurt to ask, but I'd guess no based on their use of their own proprietary coating (Kimpro).
But I'm just guessing.

Sig uses DLC on their barrels, Nitron on slides of some models.

Welcome to the site from Georgia.

GunFightersInc.com currently makes holsters for the non-railed KDS9c. According to the customer service rep I just talked to, they have ordered a railed version, and hope to add it as an option in a few weeks-ish, and we should keep an eye on their website.
