The fire control group and safety arrangement are different.
They are entirely different guns.

The Micro just looks like a 1911.

Rock Island makes a baby 380 that's closer to a real 1911 than a Micro, and almost the same size.

Well not exactly.

It's clearly possible to make a 1911 that size, but it's not really possible to modify an existing Micro 9 into a 1911.

Considering everyone from Colt to Springfield failed at making a reliable officer size 1911 until the Kimber Ultra, making one even smaller sounds like a pain in the ass.

I'm guessing the recoil assembly would be the issue.
