Received the Kimber Solo Finger Extension from GTS International. Cost was $27 + $4 Shipping via USPS. Add sales tax if you live in Texas.

Fit and finish is flawless. I got black and it is very nice. Pictures don't do it justice. I installed and ran about 75 rounds at the range with it. Everything functions fine.

My only critique is that it is narrow. When I ordered it, I talked to Sean Kirk at GTS and mentioned that his pics of the final versus prototype were different. Apparently, to actually machine one that looked like the 3D images and the printed prototype would have more than doubled the price due to all the complex angles and curves. So, even though it does give the pinky finger a place to rest, and therefore assist in reducing muzzle rise, it does feel like something is missing.

I have no regrets buying it, and it performs the function it was intended to do. Unless you want to fit your own extension from parts, this is currently the only game in town.

Here is a side shot with the extension installed. FYI, the trigger is from RTK, the grips are from SGM, and the gun has had 604 rounds run through it with only one FTE.

Icajiga -- very nice. What's your impression of the extension?

 

The extension is very well made and do the job intended for. Still prefer the feel of my Pierce one but the new extension wins for various reasons: Fit, finish and functionality. This grip is a replacement of the OEM floor plate. SOmetimes with the Pierce the gun fails to hold the slider open after last bullet, not with this.

 

Thanks for the nice write up. Wart is correct. Our original design and the final product turned out to be quite different. We wanted to do a fancy design with nice radiuses and curves but when we went to have it made it was going to cost us over $50.00 per unit. That was just our cost before packaging, marketing etc... We didn't think that that was feasible so we simplified it to a unit that will do the job.
